Seeking to leverage academic background and professional expertise to contribute effectively to communication roles that demand innovative and impactful strategies.
I am a communication professional with a strong background in development, specializing in education and livelihood sectors. I’ve honed my expertise through roles at PRADAN, the Piramal Foundation, and Tezpur University, where I developed and executed communication plans, created newsletters, and facilitated media engagement to support various developmental initiatives.
At PRADAN, I focused on rural development in Jharkhand and West Bengal, strengthening women’s self-help groups and community institutions. I launched a website and newsletter for Mahila Vikas Mandal, promoting community communication and stakeholder engagement. At the Piramal Foundation, I led programs to build the capacity of middle managers in education and mentored Gandhi Fellows. As a Project Coordinator at Tezpur University, I managed the SCoPE-Assamese project, developing strategic communication tools like the Assamese science newsletter Sandhan to enhance scientific awareness.
My skills span content writing, media relations, stakeholder management, and capacity building. I have created communication materials for esteemed organizations like the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), PRADAN, and Tezpur University. Additionally, I have led participatory video projects and contributed to award-winning short films.
As a media scholar, I explore the intersection of communication and politics in Assam, focusing on elections, sub-nationalism, and identity politics. I am also interested in film as a medium for political critique and dialogue. With a background in mass communication and journalism, I am passionate about using media and communication strategies to drive development and foster engagement.
